The Casio CZ-101 was the first synthesizer I owned. It was my first experience with sound design that made me realize sound design wasn’t for me. In a fit of nostalgia, I discovered Arturia created an emulator of the CZ-101, and I knew I wanted to make a track with it.
Cesium, the metal, has nothing to do with this track. It’s the word that sounded closest to “CZ”. Cesium 101 isn’t even a usable isotope.
“Caesium 101” (to use the British spelling out of an urge to sound needlessly posh) was written in the third mode of limited transposition.
