Silver Sting

The second single in the Retrograde Single Series features a pair of commissioned songs.

Back in 1990, a friend of Eponymous 4’s Greg Bueno recruited him to write music for a class song to be performed at the graduation ceremony. The only restriction was to incorporate the class motto: “strivers for a better tomorrow”. Greg’s co-writer and her friend wrote the lyrics, while Greg used a keyboard owned by the nuns at the school to create an arrangement. This recording approximates the original track.

Greg was asked to write another song the following year because the person first tasked with the assignment missed a deadline. The song was never performed because the original writer eventually finished a song, and the nuns honored their original arrangement. This demo remains incomplete.

“Silver Sting” predates both songs by four years, so these tracks chronicle a very early period of Greg’s work.
